On winning the prestigious National Occupational Safety and Health Excellence Award for maintaining the highest safety standards (GOLD AWARD in Service Utilities Category).

Kualiti Alam won the Best Innovation Award in UEM’s Continuous Improvement Competition (CIC) with its waste burner project and the company was also awarded the 2nd overall champion in the competition. Kualiti Alam’s CIC project for better boiler efficiency and Leachate Treatment Plant capability also won Silver Medals in the same competition.

Another milestone for us as we launched simultaneously the new look for our transportation trucks according to the new legal requirement coupled with GPS tracking system and our mascot, the firefly.

A new Leachate Treatment Plant costing RM5.6 million is currently under construction at the Waste Management Centre to further complement the existing plant in treating leachate and stormwater. It has a daily treatment capacity of 400 m3 and is scheduled to be completed in July 2007.

UEM Environment was awarded UEM Group 2006 Sri Cemerlang Award for the best Systems and Processes Improvement for the innovative successes at Kualiti Alam’s waste management centre.

Kualiti Alam won the National Council For Occupational Safety and Health ( NCOSH ) Excellence Gold award in the Utility Services Category . The award was presented by the Prime Minister ,YAB Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in Kuala Lumpur.

Kualiti Alam obtained the ACCA MESRA award under the First Time Reporter for its debut Sustainability Report 1996 – 2005. Bursa Malaysia Berhad Chief Executive Officer gave away the award.

Kualiti Kitar Alam received licences for all waste recycling plants from the Department of Environment to commence commissioning operation.

Kualiti Khidmat Alam , the marketing subsidiary under UEM Environment has obtained its Integrated Management System from Bureau Veritas Certification (M) Sdn Bhd. The Integrated Management System was for ISO 9001 , ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

Kualiti Alam was bestowed the Malaysian Society For Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) OSH Gold (Class 1) Award for its occupational safety and health record and practice its Integrated Scheduled Waste Management Centre in Negeri Sembilan.

Kualiti Alam bagged the Notable Achievement category in the Prime Minister’s Hibiscus award in Putrajaya for its environmental practice and commitment. The award was presented by the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Dato S. Sothinathan. It is Kualiti Alam’s second winning for the award.
