The Leachate Treatment Plant (LTP) at the Integrated Scheduled Waste Management Centre, which began construction in May 2001, was completed in November 2001. The plant is capable of treating leachate from secured and rubber sludge landfills, internal wastewater generated from plant operations as well as the first ten-minute flush of rainwater run-off.
Prior to commissioning the plant, Kualiti Alam conducted an in-depth study of the sources and contents of leachate and wastewater discharged from the Waste Management Centre to ensure that the LTP would meet the various parameters.
The plant has the capacity to treat 300m3 of wastewater / leachate per day and is built with the following basic treatment processes:-
• Physical/Chemical Treatment
• Chemical Treatment
• Biological Treatment
• Tertiary Treatment
• Sludge Dewatering |
